Frequently asked questions.

Do you offer in-person therapy?

Yes! Both in-person and online therapy. Our office is located in Cary, NC.

How long is a typical therapy session?

A typical session with one of our therapists is 45-50 minutes. However, longer therapy sessions can be arranged and are often encouraged for therapies like EMDR.

How do I know if therapy is going to work?

Our practice is unique in that we focus primarily on using "evidence-based" therapies. These are approaches to therapy that have been validated by scientific research. Although we cannot guarantee your results, we promise to offer you the best possible treatment options given your particular goals and to work as hard as you are willing to work to help you achieve them.

Do only people with “issues or crazies” go to therapy?

While it is true that some individuals who attend therapy may have more severe emotional disturbances with high support needs, the vast majority do not. Many individuals who seek therapy are motivated to improve their everyday lives and reach certain life goals. Also, from time to time, it is normal for individuals to go through different life stages or situations in which they would like to find more clarity and balance. It is not “crazy” to seek assistance from a qualified professional. If you feel that therapy may be beneficial for you, trust your instincts.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I do not contract with any insurance companies. If appropriate, I can provide individuals with a Superbill (receipt of services) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed unless specifically outlined in your policy. I encourage you to call your insurance directly to inquire about your out-of-network coverage before beginning services. All payments for services provided are collected prior to our sessions.
